Today’s Apple iOS 14.5 Cimpanu Coverage in ZDNet

Today’s Apple iOS 14.5 Cimpanu Coverage in ZDNet

Apple has released security updates for iOS today to address three zero-day vulnerabilities discovered in attacks against its users.

The three iOS zero-days, according to Shane Huntley, Director of Google’s Threat Analysis Group, are related to the recent spat of three Chrome zero-days[1, 2, 3] and a Windows zero-day that Google had previously disclosed over the past two weeks.

Like the four previous cases, Google has not disclosed any information about the attacker(s) or their target (s).

While it is unknown whether the zero-days were used against specific targets or in bulk, iOS users are advised to update to iOS 14.2 just to be safe.

iOS (formerly iPhone OS) is a mobile operating system developed exclusively by Apple Inc. for its hardware. It is the operating system that powers many of the companies’ mobile devices, including the iPhone; the term also includes the system software for iPads before the introduction of iPadOS in 2019, as well as the iPod Touch devices, which were discontinued in mid-2022. After Android, it is the world’s second most popular mobile operating system. It is the foundation for three other Apple (today ios applecimpanuzdnet) operating systems: iPadOS, tvOS, and watchOS. Although some parts are open source under the Apple Public Source License and additional licences, it is proprietary software.

iOS, which was first introduced in 2007 for the first-generation iPhone, has since been expanded to support other Apple devices such as the iPod Touch (September 2007) and the iPad (January 2010; availability: April 2010.) As of March 2018, Apple’s (today ios applecimpanuzdnet) App Store had over 2.1 million iOS apps, 1 million native to iPads. These mobile apps have been downloaded over 130 billion times in total.

Every year, significant updates to iOS are released. iOS 16, the most recent stable version, was released to the public on September 12, 2022.

What is Zdnet?

What is Zdnet_

Red Ventures owns and operates ZDNET, a business technology news website.  Ziff Davis launched the brand on April 1, 1991, as a general interest technology portal, and it has since evolved into an enterprise IT-focused online publication.

ZDNet began as a subscription-based digital service known as “ZiffNet,” which provided computing information to CompuServe users. It included forums, events, features, and searchable archives for the computer industry.

Initially, ZiffNet was intended to be a central location for finding content from all Ziff-Davis print publications. As such, ZiffNet grew out of PCMagNet, an earlier online service for PC Magazine readers. PCMagNet, which debuted in 1988, was the evolution of Ziff Davis’ first electronic publishing venture, a bulletin board, which debuted in 1985.

Ziff-Davis announced the consolidation of its online information services under a single name, ZD Net, on June 20, 1995. The service had 275,000 subscribers across six platforms: CompuServe, Prodigy, AT&T Interchange, Microsoft Network, and AppleLink.

When the M2 MacBook Air debuted in July 2022, there were two major stories: it was $200 more expensive than its M1 predecessor, and the new midnight black finish was a fingerprint magnet. But those two points overlooked a bigger picture.

Several other enhancements make the M2 MacBook Air one of the most impressive laptops ever. After using the M2 MacBook Air on a daily basis for over two months, I can confirm that the midnight black finish is a fingerprint magnet – though fingerprints are easily removed. I’m also pleased to report that the additional $200 is well worth the performance boost for those who require it.

We have no hesitation in naming the M2 MacBook Air our Product of the Year for 2022 because ZDNET’s audience consists primarily of professionals, technology enthusiasts, and innovators.

MagSafe has returned to the MacBook Air lineup with cables that match the laptop’s colour.

iPhone Spying

iphone spying

People want to spy on another person’s iPhone for various valid reasons. Parents commonly require spyware to monitor their child’s iPhones, while employers require employee monitoring.

Spying on Someone’s iPhone

A spyware app is the most straightforward and secure way to spy on an iPhone (today ios applecimpanuzdnet). On the Internet, you can find many spy apps to download. Most of them work flawlessly, providing real-time data on targeted users and their activities. This is my prefer method of iPhone spying because it requires no special equipment or software to be purchased. This article will walk you through some of the best iPhone spying methods to show you how it’s done.

uMobix

I prefer uMobix because it is what I use to spy on my teenage son’s iPhone. Installation was simple and, more importantly, quick.

uMobix has all of the standard features you would expect to find, but it also has capabilities that far outweigh any other remote spy app on this list, except our next choice.

The uMobix app gives you remote access to more social media apps than any other app on the market, including Tinder, Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Reddit, Telegram, Zoom, Skype, TikTok, and Snapchat.

The complete list of capabilities can be found in my upcoming uMobix review, but the short version is that it gives you full control over the device. Once install on the phone, you can use it for surveillance and change device settings, such as disabling Wi-Fi or restricting which apps can be opened.

It even has a spy app detection feature that alerts you to other spy apps installed on the phone. This appears to be an odd feature at first glance. However, if you are monitoring your children for their safety, it would be highly concerning to discover that Someone else was already watching them and that their iPhone was not secure.

mSpy

I previously used mSpy to spy on my son’s iPhone (today ios applecimpanuzdnet). The app collects a wealth of data about the target user, such as text messages, call logs, web browsing history, etc. GPS tracking and geofencing features allow you to track the target phone and receive alerts if it leaves pre-defined areas and goes to a prohibited location.

Tinder, Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Skype, TikTok, Zoom, and Snapchat are among the social media (today ios applecimpanuzdnet) platforms that mSpy can monitor. An integrated screen recorder ensures you don’t miss anything, and a keylogger feature records every keystroke on the target phone.

The only reason I switched to uMobix was so that I could listen in on phone conversations. If I hadn’t needed that feature, I would have been perfectly content to continue spying on his iPhone with mSpy.

Tech support was fantastic; they genuinely care that you get the most out of the app. Regarding compatibility, mSpy has worked with every iPhone released since 2014.
